"Developers are proposing about 60 acres of shopping, a hotel and approximately 1,000 homes and apartments for Knightdale. The sprawling development would cover 306 acres along Interstate 540 where it will connect with U.S. 64. 'What they're proposing is something we've never had before in Knightdale -- a mixed-use urban style cluster that's a whole community,' said town Planning Director Mike Frangos. 'This will be Knightdale's new front door.'"
