In all, 1,530 homes were seized by lenders from April through June after people defaulted on their mortgages, according to data from the N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts. That's down from 1,648 for the same period in 2003, the year total foreclosures peaked in the Raleigh-Cary and Durham metropolitan statistical areas.
